Record breaking weekend
Record breaking highs were set over the weekend, but not for how warm they were.
Not only were our temperatures cooler than average this past weekend, but they were so cold we actually broke records on both Saturday and Sunday for lowest highs.
For Concordia, the old record lowest high for Oct. 10th was 41 set in 1987. We broke this record with a high of 40 degrees. The old record lowest high for Oct. 11th was 48 in 1946, which was broken with a chilly high of 39 degrees.
For Topeka, the old record lowest high for Oct. 10th was 45 set in 1932 and tied in 1985; we set a new record lowest high of 40 degrees. The old record lowest high for Oct. 11th was 48 in 1909, which we broke with a high of 42 degrees.
