Mediacompost update
After losing service, just at my house, for a lengthy period of time, I finally called CenturyLink. They have a deal going right now that offers 10mb down, bundled with a phone line, for $55. You can up that to 25mb down for another $20. Since I already have a phone line, it seems like a worthwhile deal for me. I can basically drop Mediacompost for similar service and SAVE money.
Good luck to you all.

Does Sprint/Embarq/CenturyLink (or whatever they are called today) still MAKE you get a home phone with their Internet package? Last time I checked, it was a requirement....since I haven't had a land line since 2001, I opted for Media Com....
So you know, Centurylink has their problems as well...
Good luck.

CenturyLink has been sending out fliers that describe just the DSL service (no requirement for land line). Given the days where Mediacomm internet goes out multiple times per day, I'm kinda tempted also.

What is the price for just straight DSL Defenestrator?

You all can say what you want. I dumped Mediacom when Centurylink came to town to tell us back around the first of the year that we have a choice for internet. I have been with them since it was offered in Baldwin and I love it. I do get a chuckle when people come by to use my internet because Mediacom is down!
