Here's a thought or comment to ponder.
Why is it that the city can spend a gazillion dollars on the downtown renovation and can't cough up a few bucks to spray the weeds and grass that are now growing in the brick cracks? It just looks tacky, ill-keeped and just down right nasty…..or is Baldwin turning into a Lawrence where herbicides are now not used by the city?

Probably because it would actually require the City Administrator to make his staff do some work. Keep in mind, a job with Baldwin City is a lifetime entitlement that doesn't require any minimum level of performance.
WIth the downtown renovation, it was someone else doing the work.

Because the city didn't pay for much of that renovation. It was 75% paid for by a federal grant. Now they'll have to get another grant for maintenance. Hmm… I wonder if the city got a grant in 1920 to put in the city sidewalks that have long since crumbled away?

Well, aren't you all negative? I believe that the city of Baldwin is beautiful. Have you been to other cities of the same size? Please. Even the bigger cities with bigger budgets haven't done what Baldwin has done to improve the look of the city. Baldwin is a very special city. I know that you care about it, and that is why you express your opinions, but they have done the best with what they have. And I think it's fantastic!
