We believe that amid all the challenges we face there are spectacular opportunities to make USD 348 a premier school district. We intend to do just that.

People are already answering the call! The wrong people, but people nevertheless.

So who do you want ? 2 of the 3 look ok. The boy wonder of City Council is definately not one of them though.

I'm afraid you're right, ksrush. If Bayer is involved, this is doomed to fail. Kiss of death.

What few dealings I have had to with Mr. Bayer has not been that good, but I admire their initiative as flawed as it is, best thing they could do if they want to improve education in Baldwin is to help form charter or private schools, get legislation to the state that allow our tax dollars to follow the kids, and dismantle the huge monopoly that is the state run school system.

How do you know their initiative is flawed? There is not much on their site other than 1) do things differently, 2) put education first, 3) make tough decisions. Those are flaws in your opinion?

I know it's flawed since it states it wants to support USD #348 versus opening up the district to competition. If you actually read my post I describe the best action they could take.

People have to realize that Govt run schools are extremely inefficient and almost a complete waste of taxpayers money. We need new alternatives to the Monopoly we have now that is economically draining our community and creating year after year a lower performing educational system for our children.

Your joking right ? What passes for normal in your world ? Have the school district help form a charter or private school ? Whatever your taking I want some

I'm sure we don't always agree but you nailed it BD.

All levels of education need reform. Big time.

Maybe we can save some money by not teaching grammar and spelling to students.

I say we "lock and load" on grammar and spelling.

Tony, They don't do that now. My daughter had a book report for 8th grade english. She had to a poster. Now how does that teach her how to write?

A change in Carrie’s circumstances will place increased constraints on Carrie's time commitments to the degree that she felt that she could not serve in the capacity of a School Board member. Carrie consulted with each of the members of Move Baldwin Forward and we all support her decision. We wish Carrie the best and thank her for her assistance.
