Dear Mr. Dorothy,

The Parents with school aged children took a vote this evening. It was a unanimous decision that, If there is ONE more snow day, we are all dropping our children off at your house.

Thank you for your time.

Some of you people are ridiculous. I realize there is some sarcasm in these posts, but in some, I don't sense any at all. To you, I say be careful what you wish for and how you treat people. I am afraid Baldwin City already has a reputation for hounding school administrators, sometimes deservedly, but this reputation will make it harder to hire good people when/if the time comes to make a change. No one likes to work for an unappreciative, complaining, belittling boss. Guess what some of you sound like right now?

Geeze...Bloggerboo what are you married to Dorathy or something???

Man, never knew a school administrator had a fan club till I started reading Bloggerboo's post of love and adoration for one.

No, I am just filling in truth and common sense where I find it missing. You should shut up since I already proved you completely wrong on every other topic we have discussed.

I am trying to provide support for someone doing a very difficult job. I have often said he is not perfect, but tell me who you know that can be perfect in every aspect of their job? Obviously, it isn't you with as many times as you have stuck your foot in your mouth on these forums.

Since he doesn't even defend Dorathy personally but, rather, generalizes to state that Baldwin has a reputation for hounding "school administrators," your comments are simply bizarre.

Where do you get "fan club," much less "love and adoration," out of comments that are made about administrators IN GENERAL?

Your comments do not go far toward presenting you as an analytical reader. Sounds more like you just have it in for Bloggerboo. If so, fine--but call it what it is.

I'm neither agreeing nor disagreeing with his comments but if you want to disagree with them, you should at least comprehend what he's saying and address them on those grounds.

Really? You are going to blame Mr Dorathy for the snow? Hey while we are at it lets blame him for global warming. Come on people. Do you really want your kids safety jeopardized? Do you really dread quality time with your kids that much?

not blaming for the snow, just that children here have more days off than they go to school. And don't give me that BS that the amount of time in school is regulated by the state. Sure there is a min. you need to go, but here is an idea since the US has so many uneducated children. Why not do more than the minimum?

I don't have any problem with the schools being closed when it is deemed hazardous to get the kids there, but I agree that it would be a good idea to have a longer school year, and/or better use of the time while they're there. At university level, US students are being knocked out of the water in subjects such as chemistry and physics, since our K-12 is a cakewalk and they're never really pushed. But that's a whole 'nother blog.....

This is just stupid. Every other school around us had the same days off. Even Baker, KU,and JCCC called off classes for two days. This is practically a once-in-a-decade event, and you want to bash admins and school districts about time in school. These are unrelated issues.

typical responses...blame the schools and/or administration for all your problems...if you can't stand your own kids - it's a pretty sad day in Baldwin City, KS.

A gold star to Huskermom for spelling Mr Dorathy's name right, after the original post had it wrong.

I wonder whether that initial post was serious or tongue-in-cheek. If the latter, perhaps the poster was just a little too subtle, as the comment seems to have been taken seriously by all (supporters and critics alike). I don't want to join in bashing PerfectParent, as s/he may simply have been joking around.

Worthless sentiments listed here. So many want to just bitch without a constructive bone in 'em.

Just for the record! I was just hoping to open a sounding board of sorts for parents with kids with cabin fever and possibly kick back and forth idea's to combat it, I never ment for this to become a forum to slit the administrations throat! :(....

Don't blame yourself there are just several on here trying to defend a politician hired as an educator.

Glad to hear it! Suspected as much.
