Severe weather season usually lasts for two to three months in Eastern Kansas. However, there have been some years with much less activity. This season so far has seen much of the strongest activity focused to our south. That is somewhat expected through mid-May.

What in the world happened with US 56 during this storm?!?! Usually, I can rest assured that once I get on Ames, it's pretty good going and few worries. However, this storm, it was awful. City streets were more clear - did KDOT forget 56 exists?

crosswalk light
Who do we talk to about getting a light put in at the crosswalk at 8th and 56 (the one that goes to the grocery store)? No one (and I mean no one) stops and lets pedestrians cross, which is, as I understand it, illegal. Dangerous as well. I know the crosswalk was painted and signs put up but it was a complete waste of money, people just speed on through. I see kids trying to cross there all the time and no one stops for them either.
