THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ST LOUIS HAS EXTENDED THE
* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
NORTHEASTERN ST. CHARLES COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL MISSOURI...
* UNTIL 700 AM CST WEDNESDAY
* AT 955 PM CST...THE ST CHARLES COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY
REQUESTED THAT THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR NORTHEASTERN ST CHARLES
COUNTY...AND THE WEST ALTON AREA...BE EXTENDED. THE MISSISSIPPI
RIVER IS OVERTOPPING LEVEES JUST NORTH OF WEST ALTON.
INUNDATION OF THE AREA IN AND NEAR THE CITY OF WEST ALTON IS
OCCURRING AND WILL CONTINUE TO EXPAND WITHIN THE WARNED AREA.
FLOODING WILL IMPACT THE EASTERN EVACUATION ROUTE. EMERGENCY
MANAGERS URGE ALL RESIDENTS TO EVACUATE THE CITY OF WEST ALTON AS
SOON AS POSSIBLE. EVERYONE ELSE SHOULD AVOID TRAVEL TO THE AREA
UNTIL THE EVACUATION ORDER IS LIFTED.
THIS WARNING ALSO INCLUDES CONFLUENCE STATE PARK.
