A STRONG STORM SYSTEM WILL TRACK NORTHWARD ALONG THE MISSISSIPPI
RIVER VALLEY THIS EVENING. PERIODS OF SLEET...FREEZING RAIN...AND
SNOW WILL OCCUR ACROSS THE REGION WITH LIGHT SNOW ACROSS THE
ENTIRE REGION TONIGHT BEFORE THE STORM EXITS THE AREA TUESDAY
MORNING.
IN ADDITION...STRONG EAST WINDS WILL GUST TO NEAR 40 MPH THIS
EVENING. THIS COULD RESULT IN DOWNED TREE BRANCHES AND POWER
OUTAGES WHERE ICE ACCUMULATIONS FROM FREEZING RAIN ARE
SIGNIFICANT. IT MAY ALSO CAUSE DRIFTING OF SNOW IN AREAS WHERE
SNOWFALL RATES ARE HIGHER.
