THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SPRINGFIELD HAS ISSUED A
* FLOOD WARNING FOR SMALL STREAMS AND LOW WATER CROSSINGS...
IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES IN SOUTHEAST KANSAS...BOURBON...
CHEROKEE...AND CRAWFORD.
AND IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES IN SOUTHWEST MISSOURI...BARRY...
BARTON...CEDAR...DADE...JASPER...LAWRENCE...MCDONALD...NEWTON...
AND VERNON.
* UNTIL NOON CDT MONDAY.
* AT 840 PM CDT...THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND EMERGENCY
MANAGEMENT INDICATED THAT MANY LOW WATER CROSSINGS REMAIN FLOODED
ACROSS THE WARNED AREA. IN ADDITION...MANY STREAMS REMAIN AT HIGH
LEVELS OR REMAIN IN FLOOD.
* RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL EARLY SUNDAY IS CAUSING FLOODING OF
SOME STREAMS AND MANY LOW WATER CROSSINGS.
ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAINFALL IS EXPECTED ACROSS THE WARNED AREA
OVERNIGHT INTO MONDAY MORNING. THIS EXCESSIVE RAINFALL COULD QUICKLY
LEAD TO FLASH FLOODING...ALONG WITH ADDITIONAL AND RAPID RISES ON
AREA STREAMS.
FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS WILL BE ISSUED AS NEEDED TO ADDRESS SERIOUS AND
POTENTIALLY LIFE THREATENING FLOODING WITHIN THE AREAL FLOOD
WARNING.
THIS AREAL FLOOD WARNING REPLACES THE PREVIOUS AREAL FLOOD WARNING
IN EFFECT.
