LATE SATURDAY NIGHT...
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GOODLAND HAS ISSUED A WINTER
STORM WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM LATE FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH
LATE SATURDAY NIGHT.
* TIMING/DURATION...SNOW WILL BEGIN OVER YUMA COUNTY FRIDAY
EVENING AND THEN SPREAD SOUTHEAST FRIDAY NIGHT. SNOW WILL BE
WIDESPREAD OVER THE ENTIRE TRI-STATE AREA SATURDAY AND SATURDAY
NIGHT. SNOW WILL END EARLY SUNDAY.
* SNOW/ICE ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 6 TO 10 INCHES
ARE POSSIBLE...ESPECIALLY ALONG AND NORTH OF INTERSTATE 70.
* WINDS/VISIBILITY...NORTHEAST WINDS OF 20 TO 30 MPH WILL PRODUCE
BLOWING SNOW SATURDAY AFTERNOON. VISIBILITIES WILL BE REDUCED TO
ONE MILE OR LESS.
* OTHER IMPACTS...IN ADDITION TO IMPACTING TRAVEL...THIS WINTER
STORM WILL POSE A THREAT TO YOUNG LIVESTOCK. RANCHERS SHOULD
TAKE PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT THEIR ANIMALS.
