Brown, Gregory to debate issues at community forum Oct. 13

And as for having "high integrity and moral fiber," how about some plain old courtesy first? The kind that means you ask the business or the homeowner FIRST before planting one of your signs in their yard?

Can't say that I've noticed any faded signs but seriously, this is a problem? I'd rather have someone in Topeka who's careful with money and makes things last as long as possible than someone who's already had to declare bankruptcy once because she couldn't manage her own finances.

Anyone notice that Gregory's signs are an exact copy of Kiegerl's? Is she going to be an exact copy of him?

"Many" years? I would really like to know what you mean by "many" when it's a matter of public record that she moved here at the beginning of 2009. When someone moved here shouldn't be an issue...except that she made it one by shading the truth.

I'm wondering whether she actually knows where the 10th District is. I've seen her signs on Highway 56 all the way into Edgerton and Gardner. If she wanted to run in Johnson County, maybe she should have stayed there?

School board hears budget-cutting numbers

Baldwin Dad, I know this isn't the entire budget but if you go to this link, you'll see the reports of the Fact-Finding Committee with some pretty good financial specifics. As you and JustAsk said, it's going to take looking at a lot of different things to figure out where we should go.

School board hears budget-cutting numbers

I certainly hope everyone who has posted their thoughtful comments and concerns here does show up in person to talk to the board. I just hope everyone also remembers that the board is at the mercy of the state budget - it's not as if they're looking forward to making these cuts. I know Tony Brown and Tom Holland support education in Topeka so maybe we need to talk to our friends and neighbors in the rest of the state and ask them where THEIR legislators stand.

Criteria for Setting the Kansas House Agenda

Nan, changing the schedule is one thing. But until you can show me that Mike O'Neal moved the committee, conference and constituent meetings that usually take place in the mornings before the House meets on the floor, I'll still say he gave himself half the day off. Unless he hurried back from KC after the Jayhawks won...do you suppose?

Criteria for Setting the Kansas House Agenda

Could it be that Peabody actually is a supporter of KU basketball but understands that taking time off to go to the game instead of working on fixing our state's budget crisis just maybe isn't the best use of the Speaker's time? I certainly don't get to take a mini-vacation when I have a crisis at my job.
