Study finds most Baldwin City streets in good shape

Agree, attorney... The same people who want to tear out brick streets and replace with asphalt are often the same people who tear out original wood windows and replace with vinyl. Do your research. ;)

I have little interest in resurfacing streets for the subdivisions when there are still gravel streets on the other side of the highway.

Also, hoping the city chooses to do the intelligent thing and restore the brick streets... the historic charm is about the only thing this town has going for it.

Multiple departments battle 'complex' grassfire

I looked up his inspections, and saw five inspections, with zero violations... I am not finding "critical violations."

Confused.

Baldwin City man working to restore Victorian house to former stately condition

I wrote a graduate paper on Spurgeon and many of the historic homes in Baldwin. I am a historic preservationist, in my infinite free time, and am currently renovating another Spurgeon home. I have original pictures of the house... Have to double-check but from my memory, the house was not built for Allderdice. It became known as the Allderdice home, but they were the second owner, perhaps. (I have notes on it).

Also, just a note that the work is a renovation and not a restoration. :)

I am happy to speak with you more if you would like the info I have on the house and Spurgeon. Let me know!

What I said was pretty much verbatim what everyone else posted. So go ahead and reply to all the previous posters, too.

Baldwin City Council members suggest City Hall top floor remodel

I agree. I find it completely disgusting that Bonnie would even suggest this. Is she that far out of touch with today's economy to not recognize this as a slap in the face to the community?
