U.S. Highway 56 east of Baldwin City was shut down Friday to allow a huge semi-tractor trailer hauling a crane to back onto the highway after it became stranded last night on a driveway. The truck, owned by Valley Transportation Services, Grand Meadows, Minn., was westbound on U.S. 56 Thursday night when it made an inadvertent exit onto the driveway of Bob Rohe about a mile east of Baldwin City. Once the truck had pulled onto the driveway, it couldn’t get out.
