The Baldwin City Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing tonight regarding rezoning in downtown Baldwin City that would allow the sale of liquor. The hearing is at 7 p.m. at the library. Currently, only cereal malt beverages can be sold and consumed in restaurants such as Hickory Creek Barbecue, shown here. The owner of the building has obtained a release from Baker University's long-standing alcohol stipulation and if the rezoning is approved, Hickory Creek will be able to have a full bar. The planning commission will make its recommendation to the Baldwin City Council after the hearing and the council will vote on the matter at Monday's meeting.
