A worker with Richman-Helstrom Trucking guided one of the steel beams that was used to lift the Lumberyard Arts Center building through the front door Aug. 6 as a custom wrecker backs it in. A series of beams was put in the building and it was raised slightly to allow a floor to be poured. That hasn't happened yet and city officials sent a letter to the lumberyard board saying the building shouldn't be occupied until the work is finished. That effectively shut the building down for a Maple Leaf Festival event this weekend and next week's haunted house.
