@ 1776, you are being too narrow minded to continue this banter. Perhaps with arcocelli's comments you can continue on.
@ arcocelli --- I wouldn't be too quick to blame Baker for this problem.

I don't know why I should have to prove this....but here you go .... you put items at the curb there's no right to privacy.

The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that the police may legally search, without a search warrant, trash or garbage that individuals put out for collection. California v. Greenwood, 486 U.S. 35 (1988).

Curbside is considered public right of way/property. If it's out there, it's for anyone.

Video cameras recommended for school district buses

I think the cameras are a good plan. If you talk to the other school districts you will hear that even with video evidence, the parents will still say "that's not my child" when clearly it is. The state of society........

USD 348 utility bill for July doubles from 2010

So now the kids & staff suffer due to the waste of money in July ?!? Could they not have bought a window or portable AC unit for the office & other areas at BHS for less money? This is nuts.

USD 348 Superintendent pleased with fingerpring technology results

Interesting point. They used to use calling trees to notify staff. Parents had to wait for the radio or TV to announce school closings. Maybe this is more efficient thus cost effective? How much does it cost?

Our school gave us the choice of getting called or not. I think they got a new company to make the calls this year. You should be able to opt out if you don't want a call ever.

I believe that school employees' salaries are public record. Anyone can look any school employee's salary. Big news. Not. As I stated before, I do understand the frustrations in the community. Just make sure you have all the facts. You're certainly entitled to your opinions. Isn't it great that we have this forum to maturely discuss them?

I understand what you are saying, but you misrepresented that all the technology was coming from the school budget.
