School board public hearing scheduled for tonight

IT HAS BEEN ASKED FOR AT EVERY MEETING ! BUT THE BOARD IS NOT ALLOWED TO RESPOND TO THE CITIZENS. THEY IGNORE EMAILS, CALLS AND DRAG ASS ON GETTING THE INFO OUT... YOU ASK THEM...... SEE HOW EASY IT IS TO GET THAT INFO... NOT HAPPENING. THE ONLY ONES DRAGGING THE PROCESS OUT IS THE SCHOOL BOARD. THEY WONT HAND OVER THE INFO BC THEY KNOW WHAT IS IN IN WILL BLOW YOUR MINDS AND THERE WILL BE ENOUGH TIME FOR YOU TO OPEN YOUR EYES AND SAY " WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY DOING"?

Rural School Closings

KSRUSH- This specific information has been requested in the form of contracted attorneys. The board said it would have to work on it. You tell me they cant give us up to date figures on this project but want to forge forward with it? It took them 3 WEEKS to hand over a few vague at best pieces of paper which answered nothing. Not sure if you have been at all the meetings where we have asked for this information EVERYTIME and its ignored. They have a blind over all of your eyes on what these closings will do . You wont be sitting around with a savings of $ 400,000. You will be sitting there with egg on your face AGAIN saying " uhh what do we sell or close now"?

School board public hearing scheduled for tonight

KSRUSH- The information we need is where does this figure of $400,000 come from? And what they plan to do next when we are at capacity again in 2-3 years? Does everyone realize this is a one time allocation and NOT A PER YEAR SAVINGS??? the utilities, maintenance, winterizing and bills will still need to be paid for these empty schools. They got themselves in a pickle by misleading the public and overspending now they are trying to fix a damn with a band-aid and no sees that.... they just see that this " big savings" will be help the city kids and sports programs. All those against keeping the schools open obviously haven't been exposed to the fine print in which Dorathy and the rest of the school board is keeping hidden.. OPEN YOUR EYES PEOPLE !

Rural School Closings

A professor ? I wish... I would teach a class on common sense to the select board members and greedy city citizens. My point is there is way too much money that goes into sports and way too many people more interested in having the bragging rights of their childs sports then their academics. By recruited, I mean how many of our students been picked up by major recruits and are a famous name? That is great to hear the successes of those above and if we had the funds to sink in to the sports programs thats great ! My child plays sports aswell. BUT we are are drowning in debt ! This is just like having to choose between WANTS AND NEEDS.. when things get tough. Unfort. many dont want to let go of the wants to take care of the needs...

QUESTIONS & CONCERNS ABOUT RURAL SCHOOL CLOSINGS

And..... If I remember correctly, the RURAL family's pay the majority of taxes..so us city folks can keep building bigger schools, huge mac computers, tracks and whatever else we need for out spoiled comforts.... but dont dare suggest we spend that " savings" we get from shutting down 2 of the best schools and disrupting the lives of many families on something educated related... thats silly ! We want a new Activities director! We have so many events going on now they arent properly staffed and and kids lives are at risk during these games where there is suppose to be trained medical staff but isnt but thats OK, because the kids are having fun and thats all that really matters here in Baldwin City ! But for those parents that think education is more important then getting your brain banged around, handling a ball or wearing tiny skirts yelling " GO DAWGS" ITS NOT OK... They need to slow down the decision ,take their blinders off and listen to people that know more then them about this situation... too bad they dont see that.
