Speaking out

It's normally not your style to go down into the ditch with these folks and slug it out. I, for one, look towards the heavens when I think of you and want to believe you are gazing down upon me with the patience of a parent gazing at his/her well-meaning, but idiotic child.

For the grammar-endowed among us, I DO know that I ended my first sentence with a preposition.

How do you plan on disposing of your leaves?

Just for fun, Jeff, can we change the first one to "Burn, baby, burn!" ?

City council grants five-year lease for golf course

Leave Ted alone on this. He didn't speak to the measure at all when given the chance, meaning he didn't attempt to influence other Council members. He had no duty at all to recuse himself because there was no monetary gain for him at all. Recreational gain, perhaps. But if Council members were not supposed to realize any gain from their votes, then they couldn't drive on Baldwin streets, or call the Police or Fire Department, or for that matter, attend the Maple Leaf Committee.

For what it's worth, I don't have any problem with your debating style. I almost always disagree with your thoughts, but I'm in no way intimidated by you or others to make known my disagreement. Frankly I'm a bit surprised to have you spend so much electronic ink in complaining about the forum.

The only thing I can think of is that you didn't particularly care for Tony Brown's posts against you. Interestingly enough, I probably more often agree with Tony's opinions on things but get very tired of the way he wants to mute discussion on negative topics. Anyhow, he does always sign his name and sometimes his phone number on each post.

Perhaps you should give Tony a call and speak your mind to him directly. Or just fire back on SpeakOut with well-reasoned and easy-to-understand points.

Election blog: Voters approve both sales tax issues

I highly respect your viewpoint, Torch. Although you can be caustic, at least I know you attempt to think things through and then construct a grammatically correct and understandable sentence.

However, I think you are incorrect about 'for the children' on this one. I never heard that phrase mentioned anywhere in this vote. I know it was used to ram the narrowly-passed school bond issue up our rectums, but this is an entirely different situation.

Say what you want, but 66% of the voters voting Yes to Prop 1 speaks loudly about asking people besides just property owners to kick in to undo the damage done by the cheapskate, skinflint, misers who ran this City's infrastructure into the ground for many years.

Where is your Glenn Beck now, Moses?

Can't support either sales tax

It's commendable that you want to try to educate our village idiot but clearly if he seeks wisdom from the likes of Glen Beck, et al, then you ain't gonna reach him. He done made up his mind. Plus, since indasky hates our "trashy" little town here and is sorry he moved here I just can't figure out why he's so concerned about our future. I'd like to see him get the flip out of here so we can get on with our business.

Baldwin City, RWD No. 4 eye cheaper options for water

Well, rateraiser, then we are all left to conclude that:

1.) You are intellectually lazy
2.) You are a plagiarist.
3.) You don't have enough good sense to at least steal correct facts.

Nice work.

It's absolutely flippin' impossible to get ahead of the idiots on this forum. Here's the identical same post by indasky, who now goes by the moniker rateraiser. I'll save you the trouble of the rebuttals if you just follow the thread forward from indasky's lunatic rantings:

Voters to decide on sales tax Tuesday

Sales tax is not paid on gasoline. Cable is charged a franchise fee tax, not a sales tax. If you buy a new car every year then you don't have any worry about sales taxs. Oh, and by the way, your math is wrong. It would add an additional $112.50 to the car purchase. Looks like you are today's royal idiot.
