Stony Ridge Farms, located in McClouth, produced its first crop of apricots in several years, thanks to the mild winter. The farm sells its apricots at the Cottin’s Hardware Farmers’ Market in Lawrence.

Each year in late spring and early summer, apricot season arrives, and imported varieties of the sweet-tart smaller cousins of the peach can be found at many area grocery stores. But it’s not every year that apricot season arrives in Kansas.
