Ray Erlichman ( in Shawnee) says...
“I celebrate in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., with my children and grandchildren. The parade is in the evening, lasts about an hour and a half and proceeds to the lake area, and the fireworks display is over the lake and can be seen from Ontario, Canada.”
Angela Jeppeson ( in Shawnee) says...
“I enjoy the fireworks and food, but I always remember the real reason behind July 4. This year, I plan to read the preamble to the Declaration of Independence with my boys.”
Gloria Bessenbacher ( in Shawnee) says...
“Flag proudly displayed, patriotic music and hoping to see a comeback of the great fireworks show from Shawnee/Lenexa at Shawnee Mission Park.”
Stephanie Meyer ( in Shawnee) says...
“My favorite Fourth of July celebrations involve family, neighbors and friends enjoying Kansas City barbecue and ending with a great local fireworks display!”
Michael Sanders ( in Shawnee) says...
“We celebrate the Fourth of July with our family, a few friends, watching a public fireworks display and a potluck developed around Uncle Joon’s Barbecue. Yummy!”
