Julius H. Hornberger, 99, of Baldwin City, KS passed away February 8, 2015 at Baldwin Healthcare in Baldwin City. Julius was born April 22, 1915 in Rural Douglas County, KS, the son of Henry Hornberger and Willomena “Minnie (Johanning) Hornberger.
He was a farmer in his early years however in 1954 Julius began working at the Farmers Co-op plant in Douglas County in the chemical Department. He retired from there in 1978.
Julius was united in marriage with Ida Ziesck on April 14, 1940 at Worden, Kansas. She preceded him in death in 2003.
He is also preceded in death by his parents, three brothers; Charles, Herbert, Ernest, and a sister; Marie Brohammer.
Julius is survived by a son Julian Hornberger of Lawrence; a daughter Joyce McEvoy of Orlando, Florida; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, Baldwin City, KS. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 12, 2015 at St. John’s Church of Christ, Rural Douglas County.
