Lawrence E. 'Larry' LeRoy 1921 - 2011 Mission

Funeral Mass for Lawrence E. “Larry” LeRoy, 90, Mission, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Mission. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa.

Mr. LeRoy died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011, at his home.

He was born July 4, 1921, in Scammon, the son of Joseph and Helena (Swain) LeRoy

He graduated from Arma High School in 1937 and served the U.S. Army Air Force from 1942 to 1945. After his discharge, Mr. LeRoy graduated from University of Notre Dame with degrees in finance and business administration. He then worked for Panhandle Eastern Pipe Line until he retired in 1977.

Mr. LeRoy received his law degree from University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1983 and then practiced as a certified public accountant and tax attorney until retirement in 2000.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Margaret (Coomes) LeRoy; five children, Mick (Helen) LeRoy, Jim LeRoy, Mary (Jim) Woodruff, Patty Korkowski and Kevin (Julie) LeRoy; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

The family suggests memorials to St. Pius X Catholic Church or St. Luke’s Hospice, sent in care of Amos Family Chapel, 10901 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, KS 66203.
