Lila P. McMillen 1916 - 2011 Baldwin City

Services for Lila P. McMillen, 94, Baldwin City, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, at Willow Springs Old German Baptist Brethren Meeting House. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Douglas County.
Mrs. McMillen died Saturday, April 16, 2011, at Vintage Park Assisted Living Center in Baldwin City.
She was born Nov. 5, 1916, the daughter of Robert L. and Eva Martha Flory Markley.
Mrs. McMillen enjoyed her flower gardens, and flower clubs often included her yard in their spring flower tours. For many years, she had a booth at the Lawrence Farmers’ Market, selling African violets and other flowers.
She married Dale E. McMillen on Aug. 3, 1938, in Pleasant Grove. He died March 15, 2006.
Survivors include a son, Danny D. (Becky) McMillen, Baldwin City; two sisters, Vivian Johnson and Flora Ott, both of Lawrence; a sister-in-law, Letha Meyers, Baldwin City; two grandsons; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, April 18, and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
