Phyllis M. Hobson 1932 - 2008 Baldwin City
Funeral services for Phyllis M. Hobson, 76, Baldwin City, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Ives Chapel United Methodist Church in Baldwin City. Burial will in Oakwood Cemetery, Baldwin City.
Mrs. Hobson died Friday, Nov. 21, 2008.
She was born April 17, 1932, in Baldwin City, the daughter of George Robert and Lelah Mae McConnell. She grew up and attended schools in Baldwin City and Wellsville.
Mrs. Hobson enjoyed visiting with friends, building her collection of more than 1,500 cookie jars, planting and tending flowers around Ives Chapel, and sharing her viewpoints on many causes through letters to the editor of the local newspaper.
She married Donald “Gene” Hobson. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Hobson was also preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and five sisters.
Survivors include two daughters, Marty Rubottom and husband Jim and Bonnie Dase and husband John; a son, Donnie Hobson; two brothers, Cecil McConnell and Francis McConnell; four grandchildren, Casey Rubottom, Tabatha Dase, Katie Rubottom Traeder and John Dase; and two great-grandchildren, Joey Martin III and Owen Dase.
The family will meet friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home in Baldwin City.
