Marilyn J. Kesinger 1932 - 2007
Funeral services for Marilyn J. Kesinger, 75, Ozawkie, were Friday at the Way of the Cross United Methodist Church, Ozawkie. Burial followed at Ozawkie Cemetery. Mrs. Kesinger died Dec. 18, 2007, at her home.
She was born June 19, 1932, at Valley Falls, the daughter of Harold E. and Grace Ferrell Scarlett. She was a 1950 graduate of Valley Falls High School. She worked at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan., retiring in 1992. She was currently office manager for Rural Water District 10 and chairperson for Sewer District 6. She was a member of the Way of the Cross United Methodist Church.
She married Donald L. Kesinger Aug. 21, 1950, at Winchester. He died Nov. 13, 1997.
Survivors include four sons, Kent, Baldwin City, Kevin, Lawrence, Merlin, McLouth, Michael, Lawrence; four daughters, Gayla Petitt, Ozawkie, Donnita Kesinger, Ozawkie, Carol Lohman, Tonganoxie, Kathryn Barnes, Ozawkie; five brothers, Marlin, Sabetha, Harlan, Topeka, Everett, Charleston, S.C., Gary, Topeka, John, Wellsville; five sisters, Arlene Gier, Valley Falls, Neola Risinger, Valley Falls, Anita Grahem, Meriden, Leota Bolz, Valley Falls, Helen Gibson, Rapid City, S.D.; 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
One brother, one sister and a great-grandson died earlier.
Visitation at Barnett-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, Oskaloosa, was last Thursday. Memorials may be made to the church and sent in care of the funeral home.
