Kenneth Homer Anderson 1924 - 2007 Gardner

Funeral services for Kenneth Homer (Ken) Anderson, 83, Gardner, were Monday at the First Presbyterian Church, Gardner. Mr. Anderson died Dec. 13, 2007, at Olathe Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 1, 1924, at Beattie, to Ralph P. and Helen (Connet) Anderson. He graduated from Axtell High School in 1941 and attended Ottawa University. He served in the United States Navy in the South Pacific during World War II.
He married Alene Leecy Nov. 23, 1945, at Corpus Christi Naval Air Station. They moved to Gardner in 1946. He was honorably discharged from the Navy and became a housepainter until his retirement in 1986. He served on the Gardner School Board for many years, was a longtime member of the Gardner Presbyterian Church, was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, the Lions Club and a member of the Gardner Masonic Lodge for 59 years.
Survivors include his wife of the home; three sons, Kenneth, Olathe, James, Newton, and Alan, Broken Arrow, Okla.; one daughter, Nancy Brooks, Shawnee, formerly of Baldwin City; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; four brothers, Howard, Bill, Richard and Lynn.
Burial was at Gardner Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church. Bruce Funeral Home, Box 192, Gardner, KS 66030 was in charge of arrangements.
