Column: Life isn’t easy on the Kitten Ranch

With single-digit temperatures and wind chills worse than that, it’s time for an update on the Kitten Ranch. The herd is cold. As you may recall, I quite by accident got into the Kitten Ranching business about two years ago when I moved to the Temple Place just a spit and a holler from Vinland.

I found out what heaven is like — four guys decked out in Kansas City Royals gear at Wrigley Field. Heading into the holidays, that’s what I’m most thankful about this year. It turned into the best Father’s Day I’ve ever had.

When I awoke early Tuesday morning, way too early, I noticed something right away. It was the wind blowing hard. I thought at the time that it was the wind of change. Turns out, it was.
Holiday memories old and new

Enough already! I can’t get Andy Williams singing “Happy Holiday” out of mind. I think I shall go crazy. I like the song. It’s one of the Christmas classics to me. But, for whatever reason, it’s all I can seem to hear this year. That being said, I have had a happy holiday and I hope you have, too.
