K-10 to be closed to eastbound traffic west of De Soto for emergency repairs
The Kansas Department of Transportation is reporting all lanes of eastbound K-10 over the Evening Star Road bridge will be closed for emergency shoulder pavement repair work beginning as soon as possible this afternoon (around 2:00 p.m.) through late evening tonight, Wednesday, July 2. Because of pavement issues, the shoulder pavement on eastbound K-10 near the bridge has not held up to the increased vehicle and heavy truck traffic.
Eastbound K-10 traffic will be detoured down the exit ramp at Evening Star Road and back up the entrance ramp from Evening Star Road to eastbound K-10 until the emergency pavement repair work is completed. Once the repair work is completed eastbound K-10 will be reopened to one lane over the Evening Star Road bridge.
Traffic will be directed through the project work zone via signage and cones. Drivers should expect major delays during the daily peak time commutes. Updated daily traffic information for this project and for the entire Kansas City Metro Area can be viewed online any time at: www.ksdot.org/kcmetro/laneclose.asp.
The Kansas Department of Transportation and the Kansas Turnpike Authority urges all motorists to be alert, obey the warning signs, and “Give ‘Em a Brake!” when approaching and driving through the project work zone.
