Bryce Shoemaker won a 138-pound title to lead the Baldwin High wrestling team to a fourth-place team finish Saturday at the Baldwin Invitational.

The Bulldogs, who had three wrestlers reach the finals in their respective weight classes, went a combined 25-17 and accounted for 157 team points. They finished behind fellow Class 4A teams Holton (221), Tonganoxie (180) and Spring Hill (174).

Shoemaker, the state's top-ranked wrestler at 138 pounds, went 4-0 to improve to 25-2 on the season. He defeated Spring Hill's Corey Spader in the finals, 15-4. Jon Pratt (120) and Jason Von Bargen (160) also reached the championship round, but Pratt dropped an 8-1 decision to Lansing's Sky Summers and Von Bargen suffered an 18-1 loss against Holton's Andrew Rieschick.

Joel Halford (195) and Tiler Garcia (220) also earned top-four finishes, as each bounced back from semifinal losses to finish third.
