It was the final home meet for five Bulldog senior wrestlers, and perhaps the final meet in the South Gym ever, as BHS defeated Osawatomie by a score of 53-28 last night.

Seniors competing in their final meet were Bryce Shoemaker (win by tech fall at 138 pounds), Jason Von Bargen (win by forfeit at 160 pounds) and Mark Harman (win by fall at 170 pounds). Senior Colton Horne did not have a match and senior JV wrestler Acea McFarlane has been out with a shoulder injury. Also, senior manager Heidi Halford was recognized, as well.

Osawatomie came in to the dual with a 10-3 record, and jumped to an early 22-0 lead in the lightweights because of open weight classes in the Bulldog lineup. Then after a win by forfeit at 132 pounds for Bulldog Tucker Clark and a tech fall by Bryce Shoemaker, Baldwin got on the scoreboard. Baldwin lost again at 145 pounds, then with a fall at 152 pounds by freshman Owen Tuckfield,

Baldwin never looked back, winning out the remainder of the matches. Wins included a fall at 170 pounds by Harman and a huge win at 182 pounds. where sophomore Mario Garcia defeated returning state qualifier and senior Matt Lofing from Osawatomie.

Baldwin moved to 7-2 on the season. They will have six duals this weekend in the Frontier League tournament. Baldwin is the defending league champion.

The evening started with youth matches, pairing Osawatomie youth wreslters against Baldwin youth wrestlers. Osawatomie won 10 of the matches, Baldwin won six.
