Baker falls to MidAmerica
OLATHE – No. 13 ranked Baker University lost to No. 11 MidAmerica Nazarene Saturday, 49-20, falling to 4-2 on the season and 3-2 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference.
The Pioneers have now won 14-straight over the Wildcats and improve 3-1 overall and 3-1 in the HAAC.
Baker scored early in the game with a 48-yard touchdown pass from Jake Morse to Jake Green, putting Baker up 7-0 with 10:32 to go in the first quarter. Then the Pioneers rattled off 35-straight points.
Baker next scored in the third quarter on a seven-yard pass from Morse to Andrew Augsburger with 12:28 left. The Wildcats then went for two and didn’t convert on a pass attempt to Joel Murphy.
Green caught his second touchdown pass of the night in the fourth quarter on a 14-yard strike from Vossen with 9:26 left in the game. Jake Morse got the start at quarterback for BU, completing 9-of-16 for 83 yards and two toucdowns.
The Pioneers ran for 263 yards and threw for 227 for a total yardage of 490. Greg Gates ran for 167 yards, while quarterback Sean Ransburg ran for 59 yards and threw for 196 and five first half touchdowns.
Ryder Werts led the team in total tackles with 10 and solo tackles with seven, and cornerback Joshua Fairley had seven solo tackles.
