Lumberyard Arts Center to have children’s classes in January

There are three children’s classes planned for January at the Lumberyard Arts Center, 718 High Street. They are:
Art Explorers
The class to be taught by Elaine Engle will be from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Mondays from Jan. 14 through Feb. 4. The class is open to children in first through fourth grades and cost $45. The cost of drop-in sessions is $10 per session.
Students will be introduced to the elements of art through a variety of media.

Preschool art
The class to be taught by Jennifer Glenn will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursdays from Jan. 17 to Feb. 7.
Children from 3 to 5 years of age will draw, paint, sculpt and create all kinds of messy 2-D and 3-D fun. Adults can join the children in the class or allow them to explore alone. All should dress accordingly.
The cost of the class is $35 and $10 per drop-in classes.

Children’s theater Saturdays
The six-week class taught by Jennifer Glen will be from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturdays from Jan. 19 to Feb. 23.
Children from kindergarten through fourth grade are invited to act out stories, build confidence and be creative. The cost of the class is $50 before Jan. 5 and $55 after that date.
