- Baldwin High School’s boys’ basketball team’s offensive woes continued from Saturday’s tournament championship game to Tuesday’s Frontier League contest at Eudora. The Bulldogs struggled to score early in the contest, but rallied to in the second quarter.
- Austin leads BHS wrestlers 285 crown at Holton

- Jesse Austin knocked off two top-ranked wrestlers en route to his 285-pound championship at the Holton Invitational Saturday. The Baldwin High School senior led the Bulldogs with their only first-place finish of the tournament. Austin helped the Bulldogs to a third-place finish as a team at the 17-team event.

- WELLSVILLE — For the 21st consecutive year, the Baldwin High School girls basketball team has won its opening round game of the Top Gun Tournament. Tuesday’s victory came quite easily over the tournament host Eagles. The Bulldogs sank 10 of 16 three-pointers as they won 67-33.

- In his short time as the Green Bay Packers head coach, Mike McCarthy has helped put Baker University on the map. When he was hired in 2006, national media discovered where Baker University was located after learning McCarthy graduated from Baker in 1987.

- No matter the results of the April 5 elections, there will be many fresh faces on the Baldwin City Council and the USD 348 Board of Education with only one incumbent choosing to seek re-election. School Board Member Josh Mihesuah was the only incumbent who filed for the April 5 election.

- According to Kansas Department of Revenue figures, Baldwin City’s sales tax collections were up and down in 2010. As a whole, Baldwin City ‘s numbers increased in 2010, but that was because of a quarter-cent percent sales tax increase that began in April.
