Staff reduction, transportation decisions next for school board

When August rolls around, USD 348 will be operating two elementary schools, or half as many as its most of the last decade. During the next seven months, school district officials and staff members will be planning and executing the consolidation. Some changes, such as classroom layouts, have already been planned.

The Kansas Highway Patrol has identified a Raytown, Mo., man and a Eudora woman as the two people taken to hospitals during a rush-hour crash Thursday that closed westbound Kansas Highway 10 near De Soto.
City Council member files for seat on Baldwin school board

Robin Bayer, an incumbent member of the Baldwin City Council, filed Thursday morning as a candidate for an at-large seat on the Baldwin City school board. The position now is held by Joshua Mihesuah.
