Bulldogs split home contests with Cardinals

Boys basketball

Sophomore Cornell Brown propelled the Bulldogs to a 6-0 record before the winter break with 26 points in a win over rival Eudora on Tuesday night.

The Baldwin High point guard led all scorers as the Bulldogs won 55-45. Brown scored 16 points in thee second half as the Bulldogs remain unbeaten.

Eudora's Andrew Ballock led his team with 17 points.

Girls basketball

A pair of Eudora players scored in double figures to lead the Cardinals to a road win Tuesday as the Bulldogs fell to .500 before break.

Baldwin High (3-3) struggled offensively all night, while the Cardinals made most of their shots in the first half. Eudora won the game 40-28.

Allie Webb led all players with 12 points, while teammate Danelle Topil added 10. Kailyn Smith scored eight points to lead Baldwin.

The Bulldogs' top scorer through the first five games, Katie Jones, was held scoreless as she battled the flu.
