Baker University commencements set for weekend on Baldwin City campus

Baker University will honor more than 700 graduates with three commencement ceremonies Saturday and Sunday at the Collins Center.

The School of Professional and Graduate Studies graduate degree ceremony is set for 1 p.m., Saturday. There are 227 candidates for master’s degrees. Susan Lindahl, executive vice president of administrative services and chief operating officer at Baker, will deliver the commencement address.

The School of Education graduate degree ceremony will be at 4:30 p.m., Saturday. There are 152 candidates for degrees, including five who will receive their Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership. Cynthia Johnson, a consultant for the National Middle School Association and Staff Development for Educators, will deliver the keynote address. In 2010, Johnson received a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Baker University.

The undergraduate degree ceremony for the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Professional Graduate Studies, School of Nursing and School of Education will be at 1 p.m., Sunday. There are 334 candidates for undergraduate degrees. Dan Harris, a former coach and administrator at Baker, will deliver the keynote address. Harris served as the athletic director from 1995 to 2009 and is a member of the NAIA and Baker University athletics hall of fames.
