Baldwin High basketball teams sweep Anderson County

Boys basketball

LOUISBURG — Despite making only one of four free throws Tuesday night, the Baldwin High boys' basketball team remained unbeaten on the season.

Baldwin (3-0) defeated Anderson County 49-34 in the second game of the Bulldog/Wildcat Classic. They shot only four foul shots all game and made just one of those four attempts. Yet, it was enough to hold off the opposing Bulldogs.

Cornell Brown was the only Baldwin player in double figures as he scored 11 points.

Girls basketball

LOUISBURG — Katie Jones helped lift Baldwin High into the championship game of the Bulldog/Wildcat Classic with her third-straight game in double figures.

The BHS sophomore led all scorers with 16 points Tuesday. Baldwin (2-1) defeated Anderson County 48-24, winning its second-consecutive game.

Jones sank a trio of three-pointers and all three of her free throws en route to scoring 16. Baldwin will play the title game at 5:45 p.m. Friday.
