- Although the issue was dormant for nearly three months, it’s clear the passion of advocates of Baldwin USD 348’s two rural elementary schools haven’t cooled.
Parents and students from the outlying elementary schools in the school district continue to make their case for Marion Springs and Vinland elementary schools.

- After a week of pep rallies and spirit days, Baldwin High School students will celebrate their annual homecoming Friday.
BHS will once again be having a homecoming parade Friday through downtown Baldwin City, which will take place hours before the crowning ceremony at the football game. The parade will start at 4 p.m. at the District Office, located at the corner of Eighth and Chapel streets.

- Josh Hoffman scored five touchdowns to lead the Baldwin High Bulldogs to a homecoming rout over Saint James Academy, 53-12, Friday night.
Hoffman scored all five during the second and third quarters. Three of them were rushing touchdowns, including a 53-yard run. He also caught a 10-yard pass and turned it into a 55-yard touchdown reception.

- 10:10 - Baldwin beat St. James 53-12 to improve to 5-0 on the season.
The Bulldogs scored three touchdowns in the second half, while the Thunder added one. Hoffman scored two for the Bulldogs. Cornell Brown caught the other on a pass from Tyler Cawley.
Jake Heller rushed 30 yards for the second Thunder touchdown.

- A Baldwin City man was flown via helicopter ambulance to Overland Park Regional Medical Center Wednesday afternoon after a one-vehicle rollover accident near the Douglas County State Fish Lake.
