- After 80 minutes of a well-played contest, the Baldwin High School soccer team’s season came to an abrupt end last Thursday. The Bulldogs headed into overtime against top-seeded Spring Hill, who was playing on its home field. In the first minute of overtime, the Broncos took a shot that sailed into the Bulldogs’ net.

- Blue Valley Southwest may have controlled time of possession, but Baldwin High School’s football team dominated the scoreboard Tuesday night at Liston Stadium. The Timberwolves ran 67 plays compared to Baldwin’s 36 in the game. However, Baldwin’s offense and defense came up with big plays.

- WAMEGO — Baldwin High School’s drought of boys’ state championships ended here Saturday. This year was the last hurrah for the majority of the Bulldogs’ team as four of the seven state runners were seniors. The two alternates for the Class 4A state meet were also seniors.

- WAMEGO — Saturday’s Class 4A state cross country race wasn’t Baldwin High School’s best performance of season, which caused some concerns following the race. But concerns aside, the Baldwin’s girls’ team was so deep this fall that one of its top-three runners could finish fifth on the team on a day its usual fourth runner could be its top runner.

- It’s been five years since the Baldwin High School cross country teams reigned supreme … until Saturday. Mike Spielman won his 16th and 17th Class 4A cross country state championships as the Bulldogs’ coach this weekend at Wamego. On Sunday, his trees and lawn were covered in success, in the form of streamers of white toilet paper.
