Strong storms are possible Monday night in Douglas County

The tornado threat for the afternoon and evening hours will remain to our south and west as a sharp warm boundary is setting of numerous storms in Oklahoma and southern Kansas. We have already seen several tornado warnings across the Sooner state and portions of southern and western Kansas and it looks like that is where the tornado threat will remain.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe weather outlook for northeastern Kansas. Douglas County is included in the outlook, as well as the surrounding counties of Osage, Jefferson, Shawnee and Franklin.

Two injured in accident on U.S. Highway 59

Two people were injured in a vehicle accident early Sunday morning. One of the patients was taken to a Kansas City area hospital with serious injuries.
