Excessive heat warning issued for Thursday and Friday

The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning for numerous Kansas counties, including Douglas, from 10 a.m. Thursday to 8 p.m. Friday.
A humid airmass is expected to move into northeast Kansas, leading to temperatures in the mid- to upper-90s. The heat index is expected to get higher than 105 degrees during the afternoons.
Impacts from prolonged exposure to the heat include dehydration, heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Avoid strenuous physical activity, drink plenty of non-alcoholic fluids and try to stay in air conditioned buildings.

Morris
Osage
Pottawatomie
Riley
Shawnee
