Baldwin – 55, Paola – 35

PAOLA — For the first time in many years, the Baldwin High School girls’ basketball swept the Paola Panthers. The Bulldogs cruised to a 55-35 victory here Tuesday night.

“It’s been a long time since we’ve done that,” coach Bob Martin said. “It is very nice. They are a quality opponent, so anytime we can beat them is good.”

Baldwin jumped on top of the Panthers early in the game by building a 20-11 lead after one quarter. That lead was extended to 17 points at halftime.

The Bulldogs continued to outscore Paola in the second half as they improved their record to 11-6.

Baldwin will play at 6 p.m. Friday at Spring Hill.
