- PAOLA — If Bob Martin could take back the first two innings of each game here Tuesday night, he would in a flash. Martin’s Baldwin High School softball team (6-6) was swept by the Panthers. Baldwin lost 11-1 in five innings and 7-2 in seven innings.

- Baldwin High School’s boys’ tennis team fared well at the Frontier League meet Tuesday in Spring Hill, as three of the four Bulldogs placed in the top three. Baldwin tied De Soto for second place as a team. Spring Hill won the meet.

- Baker University’s music department will present its annual spring choral concert at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church, 704 Eighth St. Admission is free.

- Baldwin School District students might be paying a lot more to participate in activities and sports next year. During this school year, participants paid $40 per activity at Baldwin High School and Baldwin Junior High School.

- PAOLA — Kyle Pattrick’s seventh-inning performance here Tuesday night was comparable to legendary New York Yankees’ closer Mariano Rivera. A six-run, sixth inning rally by the Baldwin High School baseball team gave Pattrick a 7-5 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh inning.
