BHS opened the season with a sweep of Wellsville, but fell in doubleheaders to De Soto and Ottawa.

- Baldwin High School’s track and field teams continue to roll during the early portion of their season.
On Friday, the Bulldogs competed at the Shocker Pre-State Invitational in Wichita and competed at a high level. They participated in their final home meet Tuesday, the Baker Relays.

That’s what happened over the past week after several residents of 11th Street complained to the city about the sewer line construction project that has rendered their street practically impassable, as well as caused problems with ditches.

- SPRING HILL — Nate Growcock became the hero for the Baldwin High School baseball team on the mound and at the plate here Tuesday night.
The BHS junior hit the game-winning single in the top of the eighth inning. Then he came out and completed his win on the mound.
