Paola defeats Baldwin High 34-7 in season opener

Baldwin High School's football team took to the Liston Stadium field for the first time this fall on Friday night. The tenth-annual Bulldog Bash preceded the game.
Skylar Hawkins was too much for the Baldwin High School football team Friday night at Liston Stadium.
The Frontier League’s leading rusher from 2008, scored five touchdowns to help Paola defeat Baldwin 34-7 in the season opener. The Paola junior scored on runs of one, nine, 11, 34 and 38 yards.
Baldwin’s lone score of the night came early in the second quarter. Junior Josh Hoffman sprinted down the sideline for a 12-yard touchdown. The game was tied 7-7 at that point.
Paola went on to score 27 unanswered points and 20 of those were in the second half. Baldwin turned the ball over four times, three of which came in the second half.
Baldwin will host Gardner-Edgerton next Friday at Liston Stadium.
