Baker football will be tested in first two games of 2009 season

When the Baker University football team kicks off its season Sept. 5, sixth-year head coach Mike Grossner is going to get an answer about his 2009 team. Grossner’s Wildcats surprised the country when they went 8-4 a year ago. They finished the season in the first-round of the NAIA playoffs. It was the first time in 15 years that Baker’s been to the playoffs.

EUDORA — If the first match of the season was going to set the tone for the Baldwin High School volleyball team, then another losing record was in the works. However, those negative thoughts were erased during the next two hours here Tuesday night.
