May 1, 2009

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Brenda Day, Baker University archivist and curator of Old Castle Museum, will be held at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 6, outside Old Castle. The museum is on Elm Street between Sixth and Seventh streets.

Day died on April 25 after a three-year bout with cancer.

Brenda was an integral part of the Baker community who touched our lives in so many ways. We will miss her passion for history, her commitment to service, and her uncompromising zest for life.

Godspeed to you, Brenda Day.

Brenda went out of her way to help me when I began researching the history of my home, as well as other Spurgeon-built homes in Baldwin. It is rare to meet someone so forthcoming with information... I will miss her.
