They designed a wood-fired oven pizzeria at the eighth annual Kansas Restaurant and Hospitality Association’s ProStart Student Invitational two weeks ago in Wichita.

- SALINA — In lieu of not achieving his ultimate goal, Alan Callahan did leave here Saturday with his best finish ever.
For the first time in his four-year career as a Baldwin High School wrestler, Callahan reached the finals of his weight class.

- SALINA — Day one here was a success — everyone survived.
Day two ended quickly with tough losses. In just a matter of 90 minutes, four Baldwin High School wrestlers’ seasons came to a close at the Class 4A state tournament.

- KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Momentum didn’t roll over from last Thursday to Monday night here for Eric Toot’s Baldwin High School boys’ basketball team.
After defeating rival Ottawa on the road, 56-51, in what Toot called their “best game of the year,” the Bulldogs struggled in their opening round sub-state contest.

- LENEXA — In the beginning, it was all Bulldogs. In the end, the Bulldogs were barking. However, there was too much Thunder in the middle here Tuesday night.

- Baldwin City took the first step to getting bigger Monday at the city council meeting, but it’s not huge growth.
The Baldwin City Council approved the annexation of three tracts of land Monday on first reading. Council members will vote again in two weeks for the final stage of bringing the 42 acres of land into the city.
