Bulldogs lose close contests against Trailblazers

Gardner – 56, Baldwin - 46

BALDWIN CITY — Gardner-Edgerton jumped out to a quick, 10- lead on the Baldwin High boys’ basketball team here Friday. The Trailblazers went on to win the Frontier League contest, 56-46.

Baldwin (8-6) cut the Trailblazers’ lead down to single digits in the fourth quarter, but couldn't hit late three-pointers. Gardner-Edgerton was led by Bubba Starling, who scored 19 points. Baldwin’s Justin Vander Tuig led the Bulldogs with 18.

BALDWIN CITY — Despite leading for more than 28 minutes here Friday, the Baldwin High girls’ basketball dropped its fourth consecutive game. Baldwin (6-8) narrowly missed upsetting Gardner-Edgerton, 33-28.’

Baldwin led most of the contest. However, the Bulldogs only scored four points in the game’s final 5:50. Tracie Weege led Baldwin with 12 points.
