- Bob Pringle expressed his feelings about problems with the recently renovated heating and air conditioning system at Baldwin Junior High School Monday night. Pringle’s comments to the Baldwin School Board were refuted by the DLR Group architects and mechanical engineer later in the meeting.

- There were many small cuts, including six jobs, made to the 2009-2010 Baldwin School District budget, that were approved by the school board Monday night. However, larger cuts, such as closing buildings, could happen in the near future
- Late foul shots seal up BHS girls’ victory

- When the pressure was high and free throws were needed, five Baldwin High School girls’ basketball players stepped up and helped their team beat Frontier League rival De Soto Tuesday night. The Bulldogs sank 17 of 25 (22 of 34 for the game) free throws in the final quarter to help them beat the Wildcats 51-40.

- A trio of De Soto three-pointers late in the first half seemed to stun the Baldwin High School boys’ basketball team for more than a quarter Tuesday night. After the Wildcats’ sophomore Mason Wedel sank his first three-pointer with 3:10 remaining in the first half, Baldwin only scored 10 points during the next 11 minutes.

- One Baldwin Junior High School varsity girls’ basketball team avenged a previous loss to Louisburg, while the other suffered a narrow defeat Saturday in the Frontier League tournament.
- Hanson breaks Eudora ‘curse’ with championship

- EUDORA — After years of anguish and struggle, Josh Hanson exorcised his demons here Saturday. In his four previous tournaments in Eudora, the Baldwin High School senior wrestler has left unhappy. Hanson and his coach Kit Harris believe he might have been under a curse.
